Xavier University originally referred to the different alumni chapters as clubs. Thus our alumni chapter, Club #5, was the 5th Alumni chapter created. The University later began referring to chapters by their geographic locations, and that is when we became the DMV Alumni Chapter. However, we may still be affectionately called Club #5, and it is still on much of our older or financial information.

What's a FOX? 

Xavier and the DMV Alumni Chapter

A FOX is a Friend or Family member of a Xavierite. These are our parents, spouses, siblings, children, partners, and friends. We honor our FOX, because we know excellence is not achieved alone. We know our support system is there to encourage us and push us when needed. A FOX is always to be loved and revered, and Club #5 will always do so.

Xavier University of Louisiana was founded by Saint Katharine Drexel and the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament in 1925. We are the only Catholic and Historically Black College and University, and have continually been one of the top producers of African-Americans who go on to medical school for more than 20 years. The ultimate purpose of the University is to contribute to the promotion of a more just and humane society by preparing its students to assume roles of leadership and service in a global society.

The DMV Alumni Chapter's purpose is to bring together alumni, current students, and FOXes from the Washington, D.C. Metro Area to share our love for our alma mater, Xavier University of Louisiana. We raise money to fund scholarships for local students to attend Xavier, and host social and educational events to grown and strengthen our bonds.
