DMV Alumni Chapter
Serving Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia
Greetings Xavierites and FOXes,
I am extremely honored and humbled by the opportunity to serve our Alma Mater in the role of President of the DMV Alumni Chapter. Because of Xavier University of Louisiana, I am who I am today. The academics are unparalleled. When you leave Xavier, you LEAVE READY! The relationships I forged while a student at XULA are yet strong and instrumental to my Xavier experience. I know you, too, share some of these experiences. The legacy left by our Founder, St. Katharine Drexel, emanates throughout the world. Our challenge is to now determine what impact and legacy we want to leave as Alumni. How do we promote the greatness of Xavier University of La throughout DC, Maryland, and Virginia? Most importantly, how do we build upon our plans to drive greater engagement from Alumni to build a larger circle and tighter community of XU connections?
My appeal to you, fellow Xavierites:
Show your Xavier Pride! –Wear or carry Xavier apparel wherever you are! Let’s promote our Alma Mater.
Speak Xavier Pride!–Take every opportunity to share yours experience with prospective students, parents, and fellow Alumni by joining our Outreach Committee as Alumni Recruiters during College Fairs in the area.
Share Xavier Pride!- Attend DMV Chapter’s events! Bring your family! Become an active member, join our Social Committee or Membership Committee to help us reconnect with our XU family throughout the area! Relationships are so important.
Stay Informed with Xavier DMV Chapter through the chapter’s website and social media (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram). Stay connected through me or any of your Chapter Board Members. We promise to promote the successes of our fellow Xavierites and ensure you are aware of and included in every event. Moreover, your feedback and guidance are both welcomed and needed as we plan for the months ahead.
We are committed to the XU mission of contributing to the promotion of a more just and humane society by preparing students to assume roles of leadership and service in a global society. The success of our DMV Alumni Chapter is dependent upon the engagement and enthusiasm of the hundreds of Alumni and Friends of Xavier (FOX) in our vicinity. I call upon you to not only reminisce on the great academic and family environment we shared as Xavierites. We need you to be energized by the Xavier Pride that you carry in your heart and to become the compass needed to help guide the bright minds in our area who will go on to carry the torch of St. Katharine Drexel. “Deo Adjuvante Non Timendum”- With God’s Help, There Is Nothing To Fear.
I Remain Xavier Proud,
Reginald O. Salter, XU ‘95
